UPS Ground Shipping

Attention Agents -

 

I just wanted to bring to your attention that all the packaging materials for UPS that we have in the office are NOT for ground shipping.  UPS does not supply any packaging materials (boxes, soft Paks, envelopes, etc.)for ground shipping…you have to pay extra for them.  So, if you pack something in an "Express Pak" envelope and use a ground label, it is possible that UPS will ship this by air and you may be charged more.   You can use plain manila envelopes or your own boxes w/ the ground shipping labels.  I just thought I'd share this info so you don't make the same mistakes that I have for years.

The Division of Real Estate has received a report from several licensees of a phone call s/he received. The caller indicated that they were with the Division of Real Estate and proceeded to tell the licensee that they needed to renew their license and that they would be happy to take payment over the phone for renewal. In another instance, the licensee was told that their address was incorrect in our database and they were asked to pay a fine and threatened with suspension if they did not pay a fee over the phone. In both cases, the amount asked for was $23 dollars. Please be advised that the Division of Real Estate will never ask for your credit card information over the phone, nor do we accept any payment over the phone. If you receive a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from the Division of Real Estate, please ask for their name and call our main customer service line at (303) 894-2166 and ask for the name given to you over the phone.

The Best Part of the Tax Credit Extension

I did not realize where the money was coming from.

 

From Associated Press:

 

"The tax breaks would be paid for largely by delaying a tax break for multinational companies that pay foreign taxes. It was passed in 2004 and originally was to have taken effect this year, but would now be delayed until 2018."

 

I feel much better about it now. Any thoughts?

Hi all-

 

I have met a young man who is in the video business doing weddings, etc. I suggested to him that he might want to get into the home video field. Short version- He is willing to do a home video (and he has a steadycam, professional editing softward, and the like) for a listing for free. This would allow him to see how much effort is involved, let him work with the Realtor to showcase the home and the agent and get his feet into the water. It would also allow us to see the kind of work that his company is able to create. I suspect that this particular video will take a bit longer to produce (since it is a new venue for him) than would one from an ‘established’ company, but hey, it’s free!

Broncos Tickets

Parker,

        I am a season ticket holder for the broncos and have 2 great seats for sale to 2 of the best games of the season. My seats are in Section 317 row 11 seats 17 & 18. They have an awesome view of the whole field and are at an angle that you can really see the plays develop. A football fans dream.

Dog Adoption/Rescue Organization

A few of you have inquired about the dog rescue organization that my husband and I are actively involved in.  I just wanted to give you a little bit more information in case you or someone you know may be interested in giving a dog in need a good home.
 
The organization is called Big Dogs Huge Paws, Inc.  http://www.bigdogshugepaws.com/adoption
 
They are a 501c3, non-profit organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to rescuing, rehoming, and rehabilitating unwanted giant breed dogs that have been mistreated, neglected, abused and/or abandoned. We believe giant breeds to be loyal and loving, yet very expensive and sometimes overwhelming due to their massive size and need for constant human attention.
 
The dogs they have chosen to focus their rescue efforts on include, Great Danes, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, Saint Bernards, Mastiffs (All Types), Irish Wolfhounds, and Scottish Deerhounds.
 
Another great option is going to Petfinder.com.   They list most of the rescue organizations out there nationwide.

My opportunity to make a difference...

Hello all!  As some of you know, my nephew (now 8 years old) was diagnosed at 6 years old with Juvenile Diabetes.  It has been a life changing thing for him and for the past couple of years my family has dedicated ourselves to doing our part.  All that we can do is donate and support the organization that has helped Landon and his family get through this and given them way to deal with it the best way they can.  Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is an amazing organization and every year we participate in a walk to support it and raise as much money as we can to help find a cure.  Last year my goal was to raise $500 and I raised $550!  So this year I’ve set my goal to raise $600!  I have made it a point to donate a portion of every closing that I have to this organization, and so far I’m at about $100 just from myself…which makes me smile.

 

This little boy is the most amazing kid and it breaks my heart that he has to go through the things that he does.  He is the most mature 8 year old I know…counting carbs, asking to be tested, pulling himself out of recess when he feels shaky, and doing everything right.  But still this disease is so unpredictable and has no rhyme or reason to how it works.  There is actually an artificial pancreas in the works right now which means that someday Landon will be able to do all the things he wants, and probably eat anything he wants!  YEA!!!  We are hoping this happens within his lifetime!

 

Anyways, I could go on and on about it, but what I’m really after is to get donations.  I know, everyone has hard times and EVERYONE hits us up for donations for some other organization.  So I completely understand if I don’t get much from anyone.  It really takes a toll doesn’t it? So, if you are in the position to donate…GREAT!  If not..don’t worry about it, it will all work out in the end.  Thank you to all of you and I hope you have blessed day!

6 Month Rental Needed

Dog needs home

Hello All-

 

I have run into a woman who is moving to England and needs to find homes for 2 female Swiss Mountain dogs, ages 6 months and 8 months.  She paid quite a bit for them and is now looking for offers since she leaves in a month.  I am considering one of them and just thought I would pass the word on......below is a link to the breed.  I have a girlfriend who has one and it is the best dog.  They are similar to a Bernese Mtn Dog without the long hair.

Luxury Home Tour

Hello Parker Office,

As you may know the Luxury Home Tour has started and it has replaced the Parade of Homes.  There are 2 properties in the tour in Pradera.  We have a new construction listing located at 5434 Twilight Way that is beautiful and we have just reduced the price of the home to $795,000!  It is on the 10th fairway of the golf course.  We are looking for agents who would like to hold it open on Friday's, Saturday's or Sunday's while the home tour is running.  The hours for the home tour are 10:00am to 6:00pm each week through July 5th.  You may hold it open for as many hours as you would like because it is vacant.  We have started a sign up sheet in our office so please give me a call and let me know if you would be interested in doing an open house.  I had incredible traffic last Saturday and picked up a buyer! 

 

We also have a listing at 5420 Spur Cross Trail that is priced at $500,000. and they would like a open house this weekend on Saturday or Sunday.
