Carpooling to Update Class on 8/27/09

Since the update class STARTS at 8:00 am (doors are closed and locked at 8:01) we should leave the office BY 7:00 am at the latest (sorry Lisa) to avoid any traffic issues on the way. I will be at the office at 6:55am.

My opportunity to make a difference...

Hello all!  As some of you know, my nephew (now 8 years old) was diagnosed at 6 years old with Juvenile Diabetes.  It has been a life changing thing for him and for the past couple of years my family has dedicated ourselves to doing our part.  All that we can do is donate and support the organization that has helped Landon and his family get through this and given them way to deal with it the best way they can.  Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is an amazing organization and every year we participate in a walk to support it and raise as much money as we can to help find a cure.  Last year my goal was to raise $500 and I raised $550!  So this year I’ve set my goal to raise $600!  I have made it a point to donate a portion of every closing that I have to this organization, and so far I’m at about $100 just from myself…which makes me smile.

 

This little boy is the most amazing kid and it breaks my heart that he has to go through the things that he does.  He is the most mature 8 year old I know…counting carbs, asking to be tested, pulling himself out of recess when he feels shaky, and doing everything right.  But still this disease is so unpredictable and has no rhyme or reason to how it works.  There is actually an artificial pancreas in the works right now which means that someday Landon will be able to do all the things he wants, and probably eat anything he wants!  YEA!!!  We are hoping this happens within his lifetime!

 

Anyways, I could go on and on about it, but what I’m really after is to get donations.  I know, everyone has hard times and EVERYONE hits us up for donations for some other organization.  So I completely understand if I don’t get much from anyone.  It really takes a toll doesn’t it? So, if you are in the position to donate…GREAT!  If not..don’t worry about it, it will all work out in the end.  Thank you to all of you and I hope you have blessed day!

HVCC/H.R. 3044 Call to action: more co-sponsors needed

URGENT HVCC UPDATE: Thanks for signing our petition.  HVCC Continues to devastate home values across the US.  We fear that with higher Fannie and Freddie loan limits it will carry through to our former “jumbo” markets, leading the country even further into recession.  As we’ve shared, Representatives Childers (D-MS) and Miller (R-CA) introduced legislation (H.R. 3044) requesting an 18 month moratorium on the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC).  H.R. 3044 now has over 54 co-sponsors and now is the time to forward our petition to every person you know and every representative in the country.  Read some of the comments in the petition and you will soon understand the harmful nature of this horribly misguided code.  ThinkBigWorkSmall applauds the introduction of H.R. 3044 and would like to thank Representative Childers (D-MS) and Representative Miller (R-CA) for their continued efforts and leadership on this issue but it is not enough. Tens of thousands of consumers have already been robbed of their opportunity to enjoy historically low rates by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s rule. HVCC needs to be permanently reversed in order to restore lower costs to the consumer and to protect the thousands of real estate transactions stalled by this horribly misguided code. 6 Month Rental Needed

Hi everyone!  I have a client in need of a rental from 9/1/09 to 3/1/10.  They are very meticulous people with 1 small dog.  Furnished would be ideal, but not required (they are being relocated to Texas and everything they own is in storage).  They prefer Legend High School feeder area, but would go pretty much anywhere in Douglas County School District.  They need a minimum of 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.  Currently they're paying $2,000 a month for a rental, but they are flexible if they find the right house or townhouse even.  Let me know if you have any sellers having trouble selling that might be open to a 6 month lease or any other rental coming available.
